Painting Your Car Interior

Over time, the paint on a car’s interior begins to wear, chip, and fade.  However, this doesn’t mark the end of your car interior.  The interior of a car can easily be removed and repainted in order to make the inside of your car look brand new.  By following these simple steps you can make your Car Interiors look brand new again from home.

The first step is removing the dashboard and any knobs or dials that may need a new paint job.  This is an easy project; the dashboard can be removed by unscrewing or unbolting the screws on each side of the dash.  Store the screws or bolts in a safe place where they can be obtained after the project is finished.  The knobs and dials are can be easily screwed or pulled off; place all these on a dry towel.

Next, wash all the parts that are going to be painted with a special soap and warm water (this special soap can be found at any auto parts store).  Make sure to dry all the parts after washing them.  After all the parts of the car interior intended to be painted are dry apply one coat of primer to the dashboard, knobs and dials.  Allow the primer to dry; this may take five to seven hours.  While waiting on the primer to dry take a damp rag and wipe the area where the dashboard and dials go.

After the primer dries thoroughly use a special paint and apply to all of the Car Interiors parts with primer on them.  This special paint can be purchased from an auto parts store and is rather inexpensive.  After the first coat of paint has been applied to the Car Interiors allow to dry for three to five hours.  A second or third coat may have to be put on, depending on the finish.  Allow each coat to dry for the same amount of time as the first coat.  Once all the paint has dried replace the entire car interior to their designated areas.  Be careful not to damage the paint job when reapplying the pieces of the car interior.  Once all of the pieces are attached in the correct positions check and see that everything is working properly.  After all of these steps have been completed you have successfully repainted your car interior.

By painting your car interior by yourself you can save thousands of dollars.  Taking your automobile to a professional to have the interior repainted can cost thousands, depending on the shape of your car interior.  This job can be a very rewarding experience.  Remember to always take your time and never rush while repainting your car interior.
